Ardeonaig Outdoor Centre
Abernethy Trust is a Christian Charity that runs four outdoor education centres in Scotland. The Ardeonaig centre is situated on the south side of Loch Tay and has residential accommodation for 54 people and day facilities for up to 80. The aim of the project was to reduce costs, CO2 emissions, and promote renewable energy.
Wind power was chosen because it was the most efficient choice. Proven Energy have installed two Proven 6 wind turbines which produce up to 24,000kWh of electricity reducing electricity cost dramatically. The centre received a grant from SCHRI (Scottish Community and Housholder Renewables Initiative) for the two wind turbines and an educational package to promote both energy efficiency and demonstrate the use of renewable energy.
Our full product range has been applied successfully across the tourism and Leisure Industry, for high energy users the Proven 6 and Proven 15 will be of most benefit.
The Proven 6 is recommended for small to medium sized buildings while the Proven 15, the largest wind turbine in the range, is recommended for higher energy users but your Proven Energy advisor can advise you on the best to employ at your site. Both can lead to reduction or elimination of rising energy costs.
Proven Energy systems are versatile and can be adapted to suit your needs whether connected to the grid, battery charging or employed to power a direct heating system.
