Proven Energy provides the world’s only robust, low maintenance turbine. We work closely with clients in a number of key market sectors to make sure their specific electricity generation needs are met.
Proven Energy’s internationally patented turbine has undergone extensive testing under the most rigorous of climate conditions. Our market-leading installations operate successfully throughout the world, from Antarctica to Saudi Arabia.
Unlike upwind turbines, the system works with nature and not against it. It lets you get the most out of any wind speed, helping to maximise your investment.
The patented Proven Flexible Blade System enables the turbine to generate power in light or strong winds. The unique system, a combination of innovative design and the latest techniques in advanced composite technology, allows the blades to bend and flex.
As the wind gets stronger, the blades twist to reduce their aerodynamic efficiency. This lets the Proven Energy turbine maintain a high output even in the fiercest storms, unlike many turbines which need to stop generating power to protect themselves at high wind speeds. The blades also regulate their speed, preventing damage if the load from the turbine is disconnected through a power cut or electrical fault.
A Proven Energy turbine is designed to minimise noise and maintenance. It has a direct drive generator, which operates without a gearbox. The generator load is continuously monitored to keep the blades rotating at a low speed, whilst optimising power output.
Compared with other modern small turbines, the blade tip speed of a Proven Energy turbine is low. This means that noise is reduced substantially. All that can be heard is the swish of blades turning in the wind, which is virtually unnoticeable. But don’t just take our word for it - Find a Turbine and arrange a visit to an existing turbine near you.
Proven Energy controllers are designed to run the system automatically and display power output from the turbine. The power connectors and turbine brake are easily accessible at the base of the mast.
There is no need for specialist skills. On installation you will receive an easy-to-follow user guide, which gives you all the information you need. We recommend regular maintenance checks for optimum performance. These can be carried out by a local distributor.
The Proven 2.5 produces 2.5kW of electricity. This can meet the power needs of a standard three-bedroom home, excluding heating. Any excess energy production can be stored or exported to the grid, depending on local regulations. The turbine is approximately the same size as a standard telegraph pole.
The robust Proven 2.5 can be used to power small lighting systems in commercial premises. The Proven 2.5EX is widely used on off-shore oil platforms, as it is the only turbine in the world that is totally explosion-proof.
Grants and funding for installation are widely available for consumers and businesses. Generating electricity from a wind turbine helps to cut down CO2 emissions and reduces climate change levy charges. See our Funding page for further information.

Rated Output: - 15000W (15kW)
Voltages available: - 48V / 300V
Annual Output - 15,000-30,000 kWh*
Rotor Diameter: - 9m
Hub Height: - 15m
* Based on an ideal site and average wind speed of 5m/s
All Proven Energy turbines are available in three standard systems, which manage the use of the electricity generated.
Electricity is fed directly into your fuse box or distribution board, providing power to your premises. Any surplus electricity produced may be exported to the grid and sold to an electricity provider, depending on local regulations. Convenience and the opportunity to sell excess electricity have made this the most popular option. For more information on local regulations, contact us, fill in a few details and a local reseller will be in touch to answer your queries.
Energy produced by the turbine is stored in a large battery to provide a power supply. This is most beneficial in remote locations which are not connected to the grid, or which rely on a diesel / oil generator. Installing a turbine can reduce fuel consumption by up to 95% and payback for such sites can be almost immediate. There is also a positive environmental impact when fossil fuel is not used for power generation.
Energy produced by the turbine is directed to hot water tanks, storage heaters or under-floor heating, rather than providing electricity to feed into your power supply.
Whether you are interested in reducing domestic electricity bills, powering a telecom mast on the top of a hill or generating green electricity to power your business Proven Energy can work with you to find a sustainable energy solution that fits your needs.

Wind Energy is the world's fastest growing renewable energy sector, with more and more people successfully making use of wind power in their homes and businesses.
Wind energy is a form of solar energy - as long as the sun shines, the wind blows! Sunlight falls on oceans and continents, causing air to warm and rise. This in turn generates surface winds which spin the turbine blades to produce electricity.
Proven Energy wind turbines are robust, reliable, elegant and efficient and can help you maximise your investment.
Your green energy choice can make excellent financial sense, depending on your wind resource:
Wind energy systems can help customers reduce the amount of electricity purchased from their utility provider. They can also cut down dependence on fossil fuels, and they are non-polluting.
Over its life, a small residential turbine can offset approximately 1.2 tons of air pollutants and 200 tons of greenhouse gases.
International grants and funding information coming soon!
The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform's (BERR) low carbon buildings programme provides grants for householders.
Grants are available for microgeneration technologies including solar photovoltaic, wind turbines, small scale hydro, solar water heating, heat pumps and bioenergy. The programme also funds renewable CHP, micro CHP and fuel cells.
Please see the low carbon buildings programme website for more information.

The Scottish Community Householder Renewables Initiative (SCHRI ) provides grants for properties in Scotland. This is funded by the Scottish Executive and managed by the Energy Saving Trust.
Grants are available for solar water heating, solar thermal space heating, small scale wind and hydro systems, ground source heat pumps and biomass. Funding for householders is set at 30% of the installed cost up to £4,000.
If you live in Scotland you can choose to have a SCHRI or a low carbon buildings programme grant. However, you can only apply for one grant per technology from either of these programmes. You cannot have a grant from both programmes for one technology.
Please see the SCHRI website for more information or call the SCHRI Hotline on 0800 138 8858.
The Environment and Renewable Energy Fund provides renewable energy grants for householders in Northern Ireland.
Proven Energy are FULLY accredited to UL1741, the only applicable UL small wind standard
In the US we continue to work closely with UL on possible upcoming standards and changes. We would like to remind the channel that Proven Energy are FULLY compliant with UL1741 the only UL standard which applies to small scale wind directly. We urgently request assistance from the channel to raise any specific instances where local electrical inspectors do not accept this standard and would like all evidence to be sent to marketing@provenenergy.com.
