'Green' station for boys in blue

An eco-friendly police station fitted with a wind turbine and solar ventilator has opened in Norfolk. Aylsham police station also has a sedum moss roof to insulate the building in the winter and uses sensors to switch off lights when they are not in use.

Using wind to create electricity

Green Energy Gets Boost

A new Government tariff called the 'feed in tariff' pays homeowners to generate their own electricity from renewable sources. At Chyan Community Field at Halvasso near Penryn, two 6kW Proven 11 turbines have been installed by renewable energy systems company Capture Energy.

Blades back after safety recall

A wind turbine has been restored at a Yeovil business park after a recall over safety fears. The green energy source had been operating at Yeovil Innovation Centre since June, but supplier Aeolus Power Limited removed it in November after experiencing a problem with a turbine at another location.

PUPILS’ education at a county school is set to be transformed following the installation of a wind turbine. The youngsters at Canon Pyon Primary School saw the structure officially unveiled before parents, teachers and governors.

DECC clarifies FIT details

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has slightly amended its government response and decisions document on the Feed-in Tariffs to clarify the eligibility of early investors for the Clean Energy Cashback Scheme.

I opened my school's wind turbine
