Liverpool John Lennon Airport has installed two Proven Energy 6kw turbines making it the first commercial airport to operate wind turbines on its site.

This is an innovative move within the aviation sector, a famously large power user. This signals a step towards sustainability and shows Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s ability to understand the facts about wind energy.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport has encouraged carbon neutrality for some time and previously ran a scheme which encouraged passengers to donate money to be used to plant trees. The Proven Energy wind turbines will represent another high profile statement which sends out the signal that it is serious about being environmentally friendly.

Representing yet further evidence that wind turbines do not interfere with radar - this is expected to lead other major players in the aviation sector to consider Proven Energy turbines as a solution to reducing their carbon footprints and making them more environmentally friendly.
