PROVEN ENERGY WIND TURBINES BECOME PART OF IRELAND’S RENEWABLE ENERGY INITIATIVE

World leading small wind turbine manufacturer, Proven Energy, is leading the way in renewable energy by becoming registered on Ireland’s Accelerated Capital Allowance (ACA) scheme.

The ACA scheme is a tax incentive which aims to encourage companies to invest in energy saving technologies across the Republic of Ireland.

The ACA scheme allows companies to write off 100% of the purchase value of registered energy efficient equipment against their profit in the year of purchase.

Proven Energy turbines represented around 50% of small wind turbines in Ireland in 2009 and with the recent addition to the ACA scheme, it is expected that Proven Energy wind turbines will be more in demand than ever.

Proven Energy Chairman, Chris Simpson, said:

“The Republic of Ireland is one of the windiest areas in Europe and Proven Energy is keen to assist individuals in ownership of what can be an extremely worthwhile investment. The Accelerated Capital Allowance scheme opens up a whole new grant scheme to potential users.  It will enable those who do not have the initial capital to spread the cost of a wind turbine that they otherwise may not have been able to invest in.”

The Proven 11 and Proven 35-2 are two of only three small wind turbines on the list which will allow small businesses to power their premises with renewable energy without having to generate the initial capital often required.  The listed Proven Energy turbines are the only three bladed and downwind machines available on the initiative.

The ACA scheme is based on the existing Capital Allowances tax structure (also referred to as Wear and Tear Allowance) for plant and machinery, the ACA scheme is only applicable to eligible energy efficient equipment.

Already popular, the ACA scheme began in October 2008 on an initial three year trial period to encourage Irish companies to invest in renewable energy.  It will benefit these companies by reducing their tax bill, increasing their cash flow and reducing their energy costs while making renewable energy far more accessible.
